Sweet and sour lemon cake

  • 350 g Magarine
  • 350 g Mehl
  • 350 g Zucker
  • 1 Packung Vanillezucker
  • 2 Teelöffel Backpulver
  • 6 Eier
  • 3 Zitronen
  • 300 g Puderzucker
  • Hitschies Original Mix & Schnüre zum Dekorieren 


First snack on a few hitschies, because that's the best way to bake them.


Preheat the oven to 175°C - 195°C.

First, grate the peel of 3 lemons and squeeze two lemons out of them.
Mix eggs and sugar until foamy. Sift the flour and gradually add vanilla sugar, baking powder, lemon peel and margarine. Mix everything well. Spread the dough on a baking tray lined with baking paper and put it in the preheated oven and bake on the middle rack for approx. 20 minutes.
Now gradually mix a glaze from the lemon juice and the powdered sugar - please use the lemon juice very sparingly, the glaze must be very thick.

While the cake is still warm, prick it evenly with a fork. This makes it nice and juicy because the glaze can seep in. Then quickly spread the icing on the warm cake and let it cool down.
